An initiative to raise funds for and create awareness on cancer
In conjunction with National Cancer Council Malaysia (MAKNA) 25th Anniversary, a group of friends are on a mission to inspire fellow Malaysians and make a difference to commemorate the fighters who are fighting for liberty from cancer.
Many of us care for causes that are close to our hearts, particularly if a loved one has been effected. Dhanaraj’s motivation is a personal one. Last year, Dhanaraj had successfully ran the 100 km Fraser Hill ultra-marathon with Tzu Chi Foundation being the beneficiary to create awareness on gynaecologic cancer and kidney failure, as well as the importance of regular Pap smear check-ups as he had lost his beloved mother, Thanaletchumy, from this destructive and invasive disease in December 2017. Similarly, this year on August 17th, Dhanaraj and friends would like to continue the effort and will run the 70 km and the 21 km Fraser Hill ultra-marathon for a good cause to raise funds for patient/individual who is in need of financial support to undergo cancer treatment under the “Runforfighters” banner with MAKNA being the beneficiary. The fund raised will be channelled directly to the identified patient by MAKNA. Their goal is to raise RM15,000 through this year's effort.
