Rooftop Solar Panels Installation
Our institution, Pusat Penjagaan Kanak-Kanak Cacat Taman Megah, Petaling Jaya is a non-profit welfare organisation primarily taking care of disabled children and adults, orphans and underprivileged children.
The institution's expenditure is funded by public donations. Due to varying donation amounts, often we have financial constraints. We are trying to find ways to reduce the monthy expenditures.
One major recurring expenditure is high electricity bill> which ranges from MYR 7500 (Sept 2019) to MYR 9700 (April 2019). This is a huge burden and we have been trying to cut down the power consumption at the home over time (note the reduction in the bill for the last 6 months).
We are taking steps to reduce power consumption at the home i.e. minimise use of air conditioners, lesser use of fans and lightings, stopped use of a large fridge, minimise operation time of water pumps. We are still checking on other ways. We have applied for 10% rebate from TNB for the monthly bill (TNB website advised 10% rebate for non-profit welfare organisations).
In parallel we have received proposals from contractors to install roof top solar panels to generate electricity. Full installation will save approx. MYR 3000 per month.
The capex for the project estimated at around MYR 230,000.
We intend to start the project in two Phases > Phase 1 around 130kMYR and second phase 100kMYR [Phase1 first 50% of the solar panel capacity and Phase 2 the remainder 50% of the solar panel).
Phase 1 Capex: MYR 126,000 - target to start as soon as amount is secured Phase 2 Capex: MYR 104,000
We would highly appreciate your kind donation that will give monthly savings for next 25 years.
