A Fundraiser's Story - Stephanie

I stumbled upon the PeopleGiving website while I was surfing the web, and decided that I'd make my next birthday a meaningful one by raising funds for charity. My plan was to ask for donations instead of gifts for my birthday this year. My campaign titled "Donating my 22nd birthday for charity" was created to raise funds for Rumah KIDS, a charity home I've chosen.

Giving is a gesture that we apply in our daily lives, be it giving money or toys to our children or giving food and gifts to our family and friends. However, bear in mind that giving is not just limited to the material things that we do touch and see, it travels beyond the material world. Giving Love is one of the most important aspect and privilege that we as humans have within us but rarely put it to its full potential.

World Stroke Day and The Courageous 13 Campaign

On the 29th October 2012, people throughout the world will commemorate World Stroke Day. Closer to home, 2012 will also mark the National Stroke Association of Malaysia's (NASAM) participation in the international World Stroke Day on a greater scale, much more than we've ever done in previous years. World Stroke Day provides NASAM with an excellent opportunity to increase public awareness of stroke and the availability of prevention measures, treatment and short and long-term care and support for stroke survivors.
