Located in a single storey terrace house in Taman Pelangi, Rawang, Ephratha Home houses 20 children aged between 3 to 17 years old (Primary = 10 kids, Secondary = 10 kids). This home, which they have occupied since April 2012, is a safe haven for these orphans and abandoned children.
However, the home is lacking in many basic necessities and their existing furniture are mostly second-hand. Due to a lack of rooms and beds, the boys are sleeping on the floor in the living room while most of the girls sleep on mattresses on the floor. Currently the bunk beds in the home are in good condition but the mattresses need to be replaced.
Located in a corner lot, the home's huge lawn is currently only used as a laundry area. It can be put to good use as an extension of space or for gardening purposes. As this is a rented property, they are not permitted to construct a permanent extension but at the same time they have expressed a desire in utilising the outdoor space as a study / play area. The caretaker has asked if it would be possible for The Star to give them several clothes dryers which they can use outside.
