Some of our runner's Testimony :
"Children is our future generation therefore a good education and bring up are important to ensure they could take care of themselves and in return help others as well. That's the reason why Dignity is chosen. Besides an avid runner and if could help in a small way, will do my part in a very small way."
"One fateful day in 2011, I got into a serious super bike-lorry collision. I was lucky enough to walk away with a broken knee, broken ribs and fractured fingers. The most painful thing wasn't this but hearing the doctors telling me that my sports days were over. But as they say with every cloud there is a silver lining. I met a physiotherapist who proved the doctor wrong and brought me back on my feet, not just walking, but running.
I am fortunate and thankful for obtaining wonderful opportunities and great support system in my early life. Unfortunately, some children do not get that opportunity. It is my goal now to return this gift to the less fortunate children by improving their chances for a positive future. They have their own hidden talents waiting to be discovered and i want to help them find it, harness it and get them on their feet.... RUNNING!"
"Running is therapy. It has thought me lessons on setting goals, never giving up and seeing the finish line. What I have learned in running I apply to all my everyday battles and it helps me get through all of them. The name Dignity resonates with me, what is a man/women without dignity. I’m a strong believer in instilling self-respect especially in the young as I have seen self-respect carry many people through hard times and the work that you guys do at Dignity gives young people a foundations that will carry them far as they face all the challengers that this world will throw at them."
"I run because it is a true testament that a negative state of mind is fleeting. We all go through tough days – a hard day at work, being upset over a situation or someone, feeling sorry for ourselves, wanting an extra hour to laze in bed, or sheer laziness. I’ve lost count of the number of of times that I’ve been able to overcome this negativity by simply going out for a run. It clears the mind. All of I have to do is focus on putting one foot in front of the other, breathing, and everything that is important naturally falls into place. Running has taught me that life is a matter of perspective.
I’ve been fortunate that I’m in a position where I can take step back to acknowledge that we can rewire our minds to face negativity. I’m running for Dignity because it provides children with opportunities and
the foundations to work through their adversities. With the right support system and outlets, we can work through pretty much anything. Life is a matter is of perspective. It’s what you make out of the chances that are given to you."
"Why running? To improve my success in life. Running marathon is not only an achievement in itself, it also help to enhance our success in other areas of life. The fact that exercise requires planning & discipline means that it can help to improve our character development & willing to take up challenge in doing anything."
